DNSEP ART 2021 – Xing Xiao

Xiao Xing, mainly engaged in painting and programming, including 3D video, cellular automata and artificial intelligence in simulated physical environment.My painting and digital art practices tend towards the same path; digital arts seeks contingency in a deterministic world, while paintings start from a world of contingency to construct a logic of images. Both seem like unfinishable paradoxes, but I currently have solid reasons to believe that there are things that lie on that narrow border that are neither attached to determinism nor governed by total randomness. My works as such might be seen as evidence of such matters.
